What do you get when you blend an optimist with a pessimist and throw in some caffeine? Clearly the only possible answer is a "possumist." I also feel that possums may have gotten a bad rap.

I answer to many names, chief among them: Catherine, Katy, Mama, and Dr. M. I'm a violinist and teacher with a passion for books and creativity (though I don't necessarily exude all the creative juju and much as I appreciate it). I question everything and often feel quite cynical. However, I constantly strive for positivity and a wide-lens view of the good things in life. Sometimes I'm able to remain positive and sometimes I fail spectacularly. Any way you slice it, it's an adventure!
